This beautifully
restored and meticulously appointed
Saratoga Inn is
conveniently located in downtown Saratoga
Springs, New York's historic district and a
short walk to
shops,
restaurants,
museums and art galleries.
A beautiful stained glass window, one of
several above the landing, and a lovely
staircase leading to the historic
Saratoga
Inn's five exceptional guestrooms make this
a sophisticated and unique
lodging
experience.
The Victorian mansion at 142 Lake Avenue was
build in 1904 for John Wagman, the founder
of the Fort Miller Pulp and Paper Company,
and later, the President of the Saratoga
National Bank.
John Wagman engaged Newton Breeze, the
architect responsible for many mansions in
Saratoga Springs NY to design a
magnificent, three-story Queen Anne brick
house with a hipped roof and wonderful
porches. Much of the interior detail
remains, making the Fox 'n Hound the most
elegant of Saratoga inns.
Today, after an extensive and meticulous
restoration, this Saratoga Bed and Breakfast
Inn offers
five elegant guest rooms
decorated with antiques and fine art,
private bath and all the
amenities fit for
the discerning traveler searching for
ambiance, comfort and attention to detail.
The Fox 'n' Hound features intricate
bird's eye maple panels and moldings in the
downstairs sitting rooms and dining room,
and Coarsen white oak paneled walls adorn
the foyer and hallways. A beautiful Tiffany
stained glass window in the foyer invites
the guest to the lovely staircase leading to
the five guestrooms.
These details make
the Fox 'n' Hound Inn a wonderful alternative to
hotels.
Each room is tastefully
furnished and decorated to complement its
name -
Crown Suite,
Saratoga Room,
Springs
Room,
Cherub Suite and
Lilac Suite - each
with custom drapes, unique beds, and fine
linens. Guests can also expect modern
amenities such as exceptionally comfortable
queen or king size beds, luxurious hot
tubs, and fluffy bathrobes at the Inn.
